Want to Captain in 2010/2011
Posted by: Mick Le Grand, 23 July, 2010 in General News
In keeping with the positive strategic direction the club has set itself, MOCCC has reviewed and reset the role of team captains from 2010/11 onwards.
As well as leading the sides on match days, the role of team captain is expected to be increased through active participation in an improved club coaching structure and greater responsibilities in player development.
It is anticipated the new approach will ensure captains have a greater opportunity to positively influence the cricket performance of the club in so far as match results, player recruitment and retention, individual improvement and training attendance and effort.
As such, all captaincy positions are declared vacant for season 2010/2011 and the committee asks that individuals wishing to captain the 2nd XI, 3rd XI & 4th XI nominate themselves. The Committee believes we have some great leaders in the club and also others that can help bring out leadership in individuals in cricket and in life.
Captains in 2010/2011 will need to fulfil the criteria set by the committee and liaise closely with new Captain-Coach Dai Morgan Rushbrook and Cricket Manager Michael Hancock.
The key tasks for the Captaincy roles will include:
· Being a member of the clubs coaching panel – requiring Tuesday / Thursday training attendance
· Assisting in ALL teams selection on a Tuesday & Thursday night
· Ongoing communication with each individual team member
· Coordinating all match day activities for your side
If you believe you are the right person to Captain a side, please contact Mick Hancock 0413 351 541 to organise a discussion.
